Back Yard Bible Clubs: Cataula, GA – Day 3

Three days down and our energy is waxing, at least mine is. But, I’m not as young as I used to be. Please pray for my continued strength and focus upon Christ, not my aging and ailing flesh.

It would be a lie if I told you that I am not being encouraged and spurred on by the work of the young men and women around me. We labored again today painting everything in sight including one house and two massive decks. Tomorow is the day for touch up painting and hopefully a little R & R as we travel a few miles down the road to visit the family of some of our students. Hopefully their pool will be a welcome oasis.

After a long day of fruitful work we cleaned up, ate dinner and once again set out for our Back Yard Bible Club sight. We arrived with more kids than the night before and we began with song time, which the kids all love. After a short snack we called all the students together for the night’s lesson. Brandon Franks took the stool and with clarity delivered the gospel message to the 10 kids sitting before him. His lesson went well and his illustrations truly connected the truth to life. In all the night went well and was capped off by our voices raised proclaiming the gospel in song.

Oh, that God would plant a passion deep within all of us to live daily with the love of Christ as our motivation for loving others and the Gospel of Christ as our song for all the world to hear.

Let the Heavens rejoice and the Earth be glad, the sea resound and all creation dance; let the fields cry out, forests will sing; this is our song, Christ is our king.

Oh for a thousand tongues to sing, our great redeemer’s praise; the glory of our God and King, the triumphs of His grace.

We taught this song to the kids tonight in hopes that they too would come to embrace it’s truth and beauty…may God grant that increase.
