A Special Thank You

I want to take the time to say thank you to all of you who helped to make our second annual Southside Spring Carnival a Christ-centered success. To all my students who participated and manned a table I want you to know that I am very proud of you and thankful to God for His working in you. To everyone else who had a big hand in this event I greatly appreciate your service and the love that you have displayed to our community.

Evangelistic events such as this are only successful when we get beyond the carnival atmosphere and the excitement over games in order to pour forth the gospel of Christ in conversation. We may not have said everything that we wanted to, or we may have said more than we should have at times; but the purposes of God’s Word never fail. So take heart that we shared the gospel with 50+ people today and the powerful message of redemption in Christ has rung in their ears.

I want to end this post by sharing the verse of Scripture that has been running through my mind all day today in preparation for this event.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Finally, I ask that you pray over the conversations that you had and ask God to bring faith and repentance to those with whom you spoke.
